Description

The Intreccio Round Serving Platter is designed for presentation—the piece that turns a finished dish into something shared and seen. Broad and low, it brings clarity and structure to the table while allowing the food to take center stage.

At its center, a hand-painted floral motif anchors the composition, expanding outward into layered forms inspired by the traditional Penne di Pavone. The pattern builds with rhythm and precision, creating movement that complements the entire Intreccio collection.

The deep blue rim frames the luminous white ground with definition and balance, while accents of yellow, red, teal and blue add warmth and contrast. The wide, open surface makes it ideal for composed dishes—grilled meats, fish, antipasti, or family-style presentations meant to be passed and shared.

Substantial yet refined, the platter carries the weight and presence of true artisan ceramics while maintaining an elegant, low profile on the table.

Each piece is formed and painted entirely by hand in Deruta, Italy. No transfers. No stencils. Subtle variations in brushwork and glaze are not imperfections, but evidence of the artisan’s hand and the individuality of every piece.

Variations and the Nature of Hand Painting

Each piece is made and painted by hand in Italy, so slight variations are not flaws—they are part of what makes the work authentic.

You may notice small differences in brushstroke, color intensity, shape, glaze movement, rim finish, or surface texture from one piece to the next. These subtle irregularities are a natural result of hand-forming, hand-painting, and kiln firing, and are part of the character and individuality of artisan ceramics.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. That uniqueness is the beauty.

Rather than signs of mass production, these variations reflect the human hand behind each object and the traditional process used to create it. They are what give the collection warmth, depth, and a sense of life at the table.

Craft & Safety

Each piece is double-fired at approximately 900°C and is 100% food safe. All glazes and colors are free of lead and cadmium and are regularly tested to comply with FDA standards.

Cleaning

Hand washing is strongly recommended to preserve the original finish and vibrancy of the glaze. While the pieces may be placed in a dishwasher, frequent or daily dishwasher use is discouraged. If using a dishwasher, position items securely and with space between them to prevent contact during high-pressure cycles.

Microwave Use

Pieces may be used in a microwave at low power. Handle with care when removing, as ceramic retains heat. As with all earthenware, avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes. Do not transfer directly from cold storage to high heat. When serving hot liquids, pour slowly to prevent thermal shock.

About Crazing

Earthenware naturally expands and contracts with temperature and humidity changes. Over time, fine hairline cracks—known as crazing—may appear in the glaze. Crazing does not affect the safety or functionality of the piece and is often considered part of the character of handmade ceramics. Minimizing exposure to high heat and repeated dishwasher cycles will help preserve the original surface appearance for as long as possible.
