Intreccio Salad Plate, in Teal

Intreccio Salad Plate, in Teal

The Intreccio Salad Plate serves as the finishing layer of the collection’s four-piece place setting, completing the composition with its most concentrated expression of color, pattern, and movement. Positioned atop the dinner plate or deep soup bowl, it brings visual energy to the table while reinforcing the decorative language that connects the entire collection.

A hand-painted floral motif anchors the center, surrounded by Penne di Pavone-inspired forms that create rhythm, depth, and movement across the surface. The rich teal ground provides depth and contrast, accented by deep blue details and golden yellow highlights that draw the eye inward while maintaining balance within the composition. The complexity of this layered design requires hours of hand-painting by skilled artisans, with each brushstroke applied individually to build the intricate pattern and fine linework that define the piece. While available individually, it was designed to work in harmony with the charger, dinner plate, and deep soup bowl as part of a coordinated four-piece setting. For the fullest expression of the collection and the best overall value, we recommend building your setting through Build Your Table. Ideal for salads, antipasti, desserts, and smaller composed dishes.

Each plate is formed and painted entirely by hand in Deruta, Italy. No transfers. No stencils. Subtle variations in brushwork, glaze pooling, and pigment saturation are inherent to the process and are evidence of the artisan’s hand.

Variations and the Nature of Hand Painting

Each piece is made and painted by hand in Italy, so slight variations are not flaws—they are part of what makes the work authentic.

You may notice small differences in brushstroke, color intensity, shape, glaze movement, rim finish, or surface texture from one piece to the next. These subtle irregularities are a natural result of hand-forming, hand-painting, and kiln firing, and are part of the character and individuality of artisan ceramics.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. That uniqueness is the beauty.

Rather than signs of mass production, these variations reflect the human hand behind each object and the traditional process used to create it. They are what give the collection warmth, depth, and a sense of life at the table.

As handmade ceramics, slight variations in size and weight are inherent to the process.

Care & Use

Care & Use

Craft & Safety

Each piece is double-fired at approximately 900°C and is 100% food safe. All glazes and colors are free of lead and cadmium and are regularly tested to comply with FDA standards.

Cleaning

Hand washing is strongly recommended to preserve the original finish and vibrancy of the glaze. While the pieces may be placed in a dishwasher, frequent or daily dishwasher use is discouraged. If using a dishwasher, position items securely and with space between them to prevent contact during high-pressure cycles.

Microwave Use

Pieces may be used in a microwave at low power. Handle with care when removing, as ceramic retains heat. As with all earthenware, avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes. Do not transfer directly from cold storage to high heat. When serving hot liquids, pour slowly to prevent thermal shock.

About Crazing

Earthenware naturally expands and contracts with temperature and humidity changes. Over time, fine hairline cracks—known as crazing—may appear in the glaze. Crazing does not affect the safety or functionality of the piece and is often considered part of the character of handmade ceramics. Minimizing exposure to high heat and repeated dishwasher cycles will help preserve the original surface appearance for as long as possible.
