Description

The Intreccio 4-Piece Place Setting in Teal brings freshness, depth, and movement to the table through a pattern built on layered, interwoven brushstrokes. Inspired by traditional Italian decorative rhythms, the design creates a sense of structure and motion—each line crossing and building on the next.

No two pieces are identical. The variation is intentional. It’s what gives the table life.

Each setting is hand-painted in Italy, where artisans apply the Intreccio pattern freehand, allowing subtle shifts in tone and spacing that make every place setting feel personal rather than produced.

This is a complete, ready-to-set foundation for both everyday meals and a fully layered table.

Why It’s Sold as a Full Place Setting

The Intreccio collection is designed to be experienced as a complete composition, not as individual pieces.

Each element—the charger, dinner plate, salad plate, and bowl—plays a role in how the pattern builds across the table. Sold together, the proportions, layering, and visual rhythm are preserved exactly as intended.

This approach reflects how the collection is used in Italy: as a coordinated setting that comes together on the table, rather than assembled piece by piece.

What’s Included

Each place setting includes:

  • 1 Charger Plate

  • 1 Dinner Plate

  • 1 Salad Plate

  • 1 Rimmed Soup / Pasta Bowl

The Intreccio Pattern

Intreccio” means interwoven.

The pattern is built from overlapping brushwork that creates rhythm without strict symmetry. From a distance, it reads as structured and composed. Up close, the individual strokes reveal the hand behind each piece.

The teal palette introduces freshness and depth, bringing a cooler, more layered character to the table while still allowing the pattern to mix naturally with other colors in the collection.

Variations and the Nature of Hand Painting

Each piece is made and painted by hand in Italy, so slight variations are not flaws—they are part of what makes the work authentic.

You may notice small differences in brushstroke, color intensity, shape, glaze movement, rim finish, or surface texture from one piece to the next. These subtle irregularities are a natural result of hand-forming, hand-painting, and kiln firing, and are part of the character and individuality of artisan ceramics.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. That uniqueness is the beauty.

Rather than signs of mass production, these variations reflect the human hand behind each object and the traditional process used to create it. They are what give the collection warmth, depth, and a sense of life at the table.

Care & Use

Care & Use

Craft & Safety

Each piece is double-fired at approximately 900°C and is 100% food safe. All glazes and colors are free of lead and cadmium and are regularly tested to comply with FDA standards.

Cleaning

Hand washing is strongly recommended to preserve the original finish and vibrancy of the glaze. While the pieces may be placed in a dishwasher, frequent or daily dishwasher use is discouraged. If using a dishwasher, position items securely and with space between them to prevent contact during high-pressure cycles.

Microwave Use

Pieces may be used in a microwave at low power. Handle with care when removing, as ceramic retains heat. As with all earthenware, avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes. Do not transfer directly from cold storage to high heat. When serving hot liquids, pour slowly to prevent thermal shock.

About Crazing

Earthenware naturally expands and contracts with temperature and humidity changes. Over time, fine hairline cracks—known as crazing—may appear in the glaze. Crazing does not affect the safety or functionality of the piece and is often considered part of the character of handmade ceramics. Minimizing exposure to high heat and repeated dishwasher cycles will help preserve the original surface appearance for as long as possible.
